A weekly in-person and virtual mindfulness skills group

Mindfulness is a skill that enables your mind and body to be fully present in the moment in order to manage thoughts and emotions, like stress, anxiety, and depression. Whether you are a beginner, experienced, or are curious, join our group to practice and learn about mindfulness. New skills and activities will be provided every week.

 

Check out the group schedule below for a list of activities and supplies for virtual participants. Those joining us in-person will be provided supplies.

Monday, January 31

Activity: Intro to Mindfulness 

Supplies for virtual participants: Have a small snack (e.g., a piece of candy, a cracker) prepared for a mindfulness exercise 

 

Monday, February 7

Activity: Mental Balance and Grounding 

Supplies for virtual participants: no supplies needed! 

 

Monday, February 14

Activity: Gratitude journals 

Supplies for virtual participants: We will be creating our own gratitude journals this week. You can complete journal prompts digitally, use a journal or pad of paper you already have, or you can gather the following supplies for creating a DIY journal: construction paper- cut in half hamburger style, printer paper for pages – cut in half hamburger style, markers, pens, decorations, yarn/string, scissors, and a hole puncher. 

 

Monday, February 21

Activity: Anchoring with the breath 

Supplies for virtual participants: no supplies needed! 

 

Monday, February 28

Activity: Mindful creativity 

Supplies for virtual participants: 3-5 pieces of plain paper and drawing supplies of your choosing- pens, markers, crayons, colored pencils etc. 

 

Monday, March 7

Activity: Mountain Meditation 

Supplies for virtual participants: we will have an opportunity for written reflection after meditation. Optional materials: pen and paper. Reflection can also be done silently or typed on a device! 

 

Monday, March 14: No group! Enjoy your Spring Break.

Activity: Hand Mandalas 

Supplies for virtual participants: Cardstock or plain paper. Coloring supplies.
